Pia Eva Greiner-Davis holds degrees from the Prince Claus Conservatory (BMA) and from the University of Michigan (MM & DMA). Originally from the Netherlands, Pia is a Fulbright Fellow and the recipient of the Huygens Grant from the Dutch Government.
Over the course of her career, Pia has performed across Europe and the United States as a soloist, chamber player, or orchestral musician. The setting of a performance does not matter as much to her anymore, it’s the making of music, the creating of an atmosphere, and connecting people to their heart and soul that brings the fulfillment she is after.
As a teacher, Pia pushes her students to seek the highest level of artistic achievement while advocating for musicians’ health and wellness. Longevity and finding joy in making music or using the skills that one acquired while being a student of cello in other areas of life is a goal she always has in mind when teaching a student. She cares deeply about intrinsic motivation and will always put mental health first while working with a student. When not on a stage or in a practice room, Pia can be found chasing after her two blossoms and occasionally in a yoga studio looking at the world from an upside down pose!
